Our pregnant client was denied entry to the US, then kidnapped in Mexico
Pregnant and fearing for her life, our client and her husband arrived at the US border only to be expelled under Title 42, an obscure, 75-year-old public health law currently being used to effectively close the US border to nearly all asylum seekers.
Once deposited back onto the streets of Mexico, our client and her husband were almost immediately kidnapped, taken to a warehouse, and beaten.
On Thursday May 20, 2021 Charlene D’Cruz, Director of Project Corazon’s Border Rights Program, joined Sirius XM’s Tell Me Everything with guest host Nayyera Haq to discuss the Title 42 expulsion policy, how it’s being used to effectively close the US border to nearly all asylum seekers, and why that policy is directly harming asylum seekers like our client.

At L4GG, we’re working to ensure this pregnant client and hundreds more are granted humanitarian parole from Title 42, giving them a chance to pursue their asylum cases from the relative safety of our borders.
