2025 L4GG Leadership Program
Who is l4gg’s leadership program for?
The 2025 L4GG Leadership Program (formerly the State Legislative Advocacy Academy Leaders Program) is for lawyers and law students committed to engaging in legislative advocacy in their home state to achieve systemic change. Program members will engage in monthly expert-led coaching calls, join peer-led discussions tailored by issue-area, and work alongside dedicated advocates to drive meaningful change.
How many people can participate?
We plan to select 20 members for the 2025 L4GG Leadership Program. The application process invites members to share their past experiences and the issue areas in which they are particularly interested. This will allow us to form groups committed to the same issue areas.
Why should you participate and what will you receive from it?
By participating in the Leadership Program, you will receive:
Issue-Focused Training & Coaching: Attend monthly coaching calls led by experts and join peer-led discussions tailored to the issue-area you’re working on.
Tools for Change: Gain practical skills from experienced advocates to effectively navigate state legislative processes and drive meaningful change.
Community Collaboration: Work alongside dedicated advocates, building connections to amplify your impact.
Program participants will also be recognized with a certificate that can be included on resumes and your LinkedIn profile.
What are the requirements / expectations of participants?
You don’t need prior experience in legislative advocacy to apply—what matters most is your commitment to joining advocacy efforts in your state next year. Some example projects could be researching bills and committee structures, learning how to support frontline organizations leading the fight, tracking legislation as it progresses, and identifying effective ways to advocate for meaningful change.
HOW MUCH TIME WILL YOU NEED TO COMMIT?
On average, you should expect to devote 1 hour per week to the program; however, there will be flexibility. For example, some weeks will require 0 hours and others may require more than 1 hour.
What is the deadline for applications?
The deadline for submitting your application is Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
When will you be notified about application decisions?
We will notify you of whether your application has been approved by Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
