Help Us Provide Life-Saving Aid to 1,000+ Asylum Seekers
There’s a growing humanitarian crisis in Reynosa, MX. Local aid groups estimate that roughly 6,000 migrants are living in camping tents on the streets without access to running water and protection from dangerous cartel activity.
Most of the individuals are barred from seeking asylum in the U.S. due to Title 42, a policy designed to slow the spread of COVID-19 that effectively closes the southern border.
Lawyers for Good Government (L4GG) is doing everything we can to address the legal needs of asylum seekers in Reynosa and the Rio Grande Valley.
We continue to secure life-saving parole from Title 42 and MPP for extremely vulnerable asylum seekers (i.e. LGBTQ+ individuals, those with medical conditions, third-language speakers, pregnant individuals etc.). We also provide other limited-scope legal services and secure holistic social services for our clients (i.e. food, housing, clothing, medical care, transportation).
In recent years, L4GG’s Project Corazon has assisted over 10,000 migrants and secured humanitarian parole for over 1,000 asylum seekers. For many, humanitarian parole is their only option at securing safety in the U.S., and it’s virtually impossible to obtain parole without legal assistance.
Although critical and often life-saving, the services we provide are very resource intensive. We are one of the only non-profit legal services providers offering ongoing services to asylum seekers in Reynosa, and current legal needs greatly outpace our existing resources.
L4GG needs your help to continue providing life-saving assistance to the most vulnerable asylum seekers. Our goal is to raise $15,000 by October 21st in order to sustain our work through the end of the year. can you help us?
Yes! I want to help asylum seekers receive life-saving assistance.
As always, we will use your gift where it will do the most good.
